Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Connectera LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website shopifyranked.com and the Catalog Readiness Setup service sold from it. The data controller for the purposes of GDPR is Connectera LLC, 1021 E Lincolnway, Suite 7740, Cheyenne, WY 82001, United States. Day-to-day operator is Billy Reiner, reachable at [email protected].

2. What we collect

We collect the minimum we need to run the install, deliver the audit, and answer your emails. Specifically:

• Lead form data — your email, your Shopify store URL, and the one-line note you write about what hurts most. Submitted through the free audit form. Stored in our CRM (GoHighLevel) and our shared lead worker (a Cloudflare Worker on leads.connecteraco.com).
• Checkout data — when you buy the install, the payment processor (FastPayDirect / GoHighLevel hosted checkout) collects your billing details and payment method. We never see, store, or process raw card data.
• Install access — during the 7-day install we ask for staff access to your Shopify admin (Apps, Themes, Online Store, Content). We do not store your Shopify password. Access is revoked by you on day 7 when the install ships.
• Analytics — we run self-hosted Umami analytics on a.connecteraco.com. Umami is cookieless and does not fingerprint visitors. It records the page you visited, your referrer, your country (derived from IP at request time and immediately discarded), browser, and operating system.
• Email — if you write to [email protected], we keep that thread.
• Theme detector lookups — the store domain you enter and what the detector found about that store. Nothing about you. See the theme detector below.

That is the full list. We do not buy personal data, scrape personal data, or run ad-platform retargeting pixels.

The Shopify theme detector

When you use the Shopify theme detector, our server fetches up to six public pages from the store you named: its robots.txt, homepage, public product feed (/products.json), /llms.txt, and one product's page and data. It identifies itself as ShopifyRankedBot/1.0 and follows the store's robots.txt.

• What we store: one record per store per day with the date, the store's domain, and the detection result (platform, theme, recognised apps, and the AI-readiness numbers). We keep these records to publish aggregate statistics about Shopify themes, apps and catalog data.
• What we don't store: your IP address, browser, or anything else about you. The lookup record isn't linked to you. The web server doesn't write access-log lines for detector requests.
• Rate limits: to stop abuse we count lookups per connection (10 a minute, 100 a day). The count is kept in the server's memory against a one-way hash of your IP address, never written to disk, and cleared within a day.
• Results cache: a store's result is kept in memory for up to 6 hours so repeat lookups don't fetch the store again.

3. Why we collect it

• Run the audit — we need your store URL to actually look at your store.
• Run the install — we need Shopify access to edit your theme, install the Knowledge Base app, and audit robots.txt.liquid.
• Process payment — required for the $499 one-time fee.
• Send the deliverables — the audit PDF, the install walkthrough Loom, and the 30-day report all land in your inbox.
• Improve the site — we read which articles get traffic so we know what to write next.
• Run the theme detector — we need the store domain to look the store up, and we keep the results to publish aggregate statistics.

Lawful bases under GDPR: contract performance for the install itself, legitimate interest for analytics and answering your email, and consent for any non-essential cookie if and when we add one (today, there are none).

4. Who we share data with

We use a small number of processors. Each is bound by their own DPA and only sees the data they need:

• GoHighLevel — CRM, hosted checkout, transactional email.
• FastPayDirect — payment processing on the checkout link.
• Cloudflare — DNS, CDN, the lead-worker that posts your form to GoHighLevel, and the Turnstile widget that keeps bots off our forms.
• Hetzner — the European host running the site and the analytics database.
• Umami — self-hosted on our own Hetzner box; no third party sees the data.
• Shopify — only with your explicit invite during the 7-day install window. We are not a Shopify employee or a Shopify Partner of record.

We do not sell data. We do not share data with advertising networks. We do not transfer data to any party outside this list without your written go-ahead.

5. How long we keep it

• Lead form submissions — 24 months in the CRM, then archived.
• Customer install records — 7 years (required for accounting and tax records under US and EU rules).
• Analytics — 14 months rolling, then aggregated.
• Theme detector records — store domains and detection results, no personal data. Kept for as long as we publish statistics from them.
• Email threads — indefinitely unless you ask us to delete them.

6. Your rights

Under GDPR, the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and equivalent laws, you have the right to:

• Ask what data we hold on you (right of access).
• Ask us to correct it (right of rectification).
• Ask us to delete it (right to erasure).
• Ask us to stop processing it (right to restriction).
• Take a copy elsewhere (right to portability).
• Object to legitimate-interest processing (right to object).

7. Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or social-media pixels. We do set a single first-party preference cookie if you dismiss the launch banner, so it stays dismissed. The Cloudflare Turnstile widget on the audit form sets short-lived bot-protection cookies; this is required for the form to work.

8. Children

ShopifyRanked is a business-to-business service. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we change the date at the top. Material changes get an email to everyone currently in the CRM.
